About Iman Spaargaren:

Iman is a multi-reed player, arranger and composer.
Iman has a distinctive way of playing and a very personal tone on his horn. He likes to search for different ways of expressing himself in different kinds of music. His main musical goal is to have a great deal of freedom in melody, harmony and rhythm and presenting that in a comprehensible context for the listener.
Over the past years Iman has been busy with a wide variety of music groups such as Undercurrent Orchestra, Undercurrent Trio, EyeMan All Stars, Pelican Three, StarkLinnemann Quartet, Voice of Monk, Iman Spaargaren Quartet & Septet, Captain Hook, European Union Quartet andThelonious4.
He is actively involved in the music theatre piece De Zomer In Mij.
In 2022 Iman recieved a composition assignment to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the BIM (Beroepsvereniging voor Improviserende musici) workers union for jazz and improvised music.

In 2021 Iman released Everything Seems Different on Zennez Records with Undercurrent Orchestra featuring Annie Tangberg, Gerard Kleijn, Joost Buis, Guillermo Celano and Marcos Baggiani. In 2019 High Tide Low Tide on Flea Boy Records with Undercurrent Trio featuring Guillermo Celano and Marcos Baggiani has been released. In 2018 Iman released the album Pictures at an Exhibition with StarkLinnemann Quartet as well as a double album in 2016: Transcending Chopin II & III. Two other albums were released in 2013: In The Moment with Iman Spaargaren Undercurrent on EyemanRecords and Thelonious4 meets Tony Miceli on DotTime Records.

About Christian:

The pianist, composer, and artist Christian Doepke was born in Munich and has lived and worked in Amsterdam since 2006. In Germany, he became known through his collaborations on Kinderquatsch with Michael Schanze (ARD), the DSF talk show Doppelpass, and Gruenwald's Freitagskomedie (BR). Over the past 20 years, he has worked as a pianist in numerous jazz and theater ensembles.
In addition to many live and studio performances, two albums have also been released under his own name:

Christian Doepke Trio - "Ad Lips" feat. Rick Margitza (released on Jazz & Milk)
Christian Doepke "Patience" feat. Bob Sheppard (released on Zennez Records)

Christian Doepke has worked live or in the studio with jazz greats such as:
Bob Sheppard, Rick Margitza,Don Braden, Claudio Roditi , William Gallison, Thaïsa Olivia,
Sheila Jordan,Rhiannon, Deborah Carter, Melanie Nini Bong and Masha Bijlsma.

Art is Christian's second passion. He is self-taught and started sketching and painting at the age of thirty-seven. Until now, Christian has been exploring art in his own way and pace. His drawing of a sleeping dog in Thailand won the first prize of Grafimuse 2011, an international competition for painting musicians, composers or conductors.
